Braised in the South (B.I.T.S), a former food truck, will host the Grand Opening for its brick-and-mortar location on Sunday, September 27th at 3338 Maybank Highway on Johns Island. The restaurant will open its doors at 11 am, and guests can order from their full menu for lunch or dinner, and their ice cream window for dessert.
Braised in the South's hours of operations will be Sunday through Wednesday from 11 am to 8 pm and 11 am to 9 pm from Thursday through Saturday.
The menu features some of the food truck’s most popular dishes including — Totchos, Fried Shrimp and Grits, the Pork n' Mac Bowl, the B.I.T.S Burger, and a variety of tacos. Platters, salads, and sandwiches will be introduced to the menu. Meats can be purchased by the pound, and sides can be purchased by the pint and quart.
B.I.T.S will have an ice cream window that will feature soft serve ice cream in a cone or bowl with the option to add any of the 21 toppings or dips.
Owners and chefs Brandon Lapp and Steve Klatt opened the food truck in 2017 and gained popularity when they were named winners of Food Network's The Great Food Truck Race (Season 8).
“We are overwhelmed with the amount of love we've received through this whole process,” Lapp and Klatt said. “We started serving the Charleston area just three years ago, and in that time, we've gained the biggest, most supportive family. From one small food truck, to multiple trucks and a permanent location, you guys have been with us every step of the way. We only dreamed about being where we are today, and we are so thankful for your support.”
