Charleston AMA Announces Annual Marketing Award Winners



The American Marketing Association of Charleston this week officially announced the winners of the 2020 Spark! Awards. This year, there were 110 finalist entries in 21 categories that displayed innovative and creative work from outstanding professionals in the Charleston marketing community.

Reminiscent of network awards shows like the Emmys or Golden Globe Awards, the 2020 Spark! Awards were broadcast live in that same fashion with host Christian Senger (right), the man behind the Charleston’s most popular blog, Holy City Sinner.

Viewers tuned in through Zoom to an awards show that was set in the era of disco for a glitter filled boogie night. Before the awards show kicked off, viewers enjoyed an interactive happy hour. Morgan Hurley, award winning mixologist and owner of Mex 1 Coastal Cantina, delighted the audience with the recipe for a celebratory tequila champagne cocktail. Then the ladies from DivaDance Charleston got everyone out of their seats to learn some Saturday Night Fever hustle dance moves.

“We took a risk and did something completely different this year in hosting a live broadcast awards show,” said Gillian Mechling, president of Charleston AMA 2020-2021. “The show turned out better than we could have ever imagined, thanks to all of our contributors, the board, but especially to Fox Audio Visual and DreamLight Images for their outstanding work to make this a high-quality visual experience for our viewers.
