Personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2019's Happiest Cities in America and Charleston checked in at No. 20 on the list.
In order to determine where people in America are most content with their lives, WalletHub compared more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities across 31 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from depression rate to income-growth rate to average leisure time spent per day.
Here is where the Holy City ranked in some of these categories:
Happiness in Charleston (1=Happiest, 91=Avg.)
- 42nd – Adequate-Sleep Rate
- 90th – Suicide Rate
- 45th – Sports-Participation Rate
- 1st – Unemployment Rate
- 55th – Separation & Divorce Rate
- 13th – Income Growth Rate
