I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible, so here’s the latest:

  1. 5Church Charleston announced their participation in the 7th Annual Cabernet Academy hosted by Alexander Valley Winegrowers Association, “The Somm Journal” and Master Sommelier Fred Dame. The two-and-a-half-day event will take place May 21st through May 24th, 2018 in Alexander Valley, California. 5Church Beverage Director Patricia Smith is the only invitee to the event from the Carolinas.
  2. Dockery’s has welcomed a new general manager, Chuck Isenberg, to their team. Isenberg, whose last position was as general manager at Prohibition, has already introduced a happy hour, a summer concert series, a customer loyalty program, and more. You can learn all the details here.
  3. Catawba Brewing Co. announced the hiring of Rick Rice as Location Manager at their Palmetto Brewing Tasting Room. Click here for more info.
  4. The Folly Association of Business (FAB) donated $25,000 in proceeds from three of their events that have taken place so far this year – the New Year’s Day Polar Plunge, January’s Taste of Folly and February’s Folly Gras. A total of $10,000 was donated to the City of Folly Beach. This donation was for the beautification of Folly Beach and island assets.
