Food & Wine included two local restaurants in their list of the Best Fried Chicken in the United States. Downtown hotspots Husk and Jestine’s Kitchen both found themselves in the 25 restaurant grouping.
Jestine’s has been popular (especially with tourists) for years, while Husk’s offering is relatively new and has limited availability. The chicken at Husk is notable because it is fried in butter, chicken fat, bacon fat and country ham fat. It may not be good for you, but patrons love it.
