Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) will host its 3rd Annual Entrepreneurs in Athletics and Sports Fundraiser on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 2 pm to 6 pm at North Charleston High School (1087 E. Montague Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405). Youth are invited to register to compete in the 3-on-3 Basketball Closeout and attend this event to learn about careers in the athletic field.
The event will feature sports clinics on football, baseball, basketball, soccer, track and field, strength and agility, swimming, boating, crabbing, fishing, and hunting. There will be entrepreneurial speakers, a basketball game between City of Charleston police and Mount Pleasant police, health and wellness information, networking, vendors, a community information village, kids zone, food trucks, photo booth, and giveaways. Three cash prizes, one in each category, will be awarded to the winners in the elementary, middle, and high school categories of the 3-on-3 Basketball Closeout.
A suggested donation of $5 for youth ages 11-17 and $10 for adults can be given on Eventbrite. Youth can also be registered as a team member for the 3-on-3 Basketball Closeout on the Eventbrite page.
Donation proceeds will go toward EC Youth programs, such as the Learn Earn, Earn Learn (L.E.E.L) Program, and scholarships. Sponsors, vendors, and food trucks are still being accepted.
EC Youth usually holds entrepreneur and financial literacy events in January, June, and October with speakers who educate attendees on starting a business, strategic planning, law, marketing, accounting, banking, money management, politics, and other business sectors. The organization also has a Learn Earn, Earn Learn (L.E.E.L.) Program that allows youth participants to earn stipends made possible through sponsors and grants for attending school, meeting with their mentors and tutors, volunteering, and working on their portfolio for planning for their future. The EC Youth theme is Education + Entrepreneurship = Dreams Come True.
Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) was established to expose youth ages 17 and younger to entrepreneurship. Its mission is building youth entrepreneurs and entrepreneur centers, too. Each youth is his own center. Youth are taught the tools of entrepreneurship, which are education, volunteering, mentoring, tutoring, apprenticeships, vending, scholarships, and more, and how to use them. EC Youth has an ultimate goal of educating youth about financial literacy.
