Though Pride Month may be over, We Are Family isn’t slowing down their vital work in the Charleston LGBTQ+ community. The Charleston-based non-profit today announced special summer programs in addition to their year-round resources.
Starting July 13, We Are Family will kick off their new Survivance and Queer Youth program. This curriculum-driven group intervention is designed to initiate effective grief resolution, a positive identity, and a commitment to personal and community healing with support. Participants will learn about LGBTQ+ history and have a chance to add their story to the impactful lineage of their queer ancestors through making art and journaling, learning effective skills and strategies for healing from grief or loss while promoting empowerment, exploring activism, and more. This program will be hosted on three Saturdays (July 13, 20 and 27) for roughly four hours each day. Interested 18-to-24-year-olds can learn more and apply here.
