Dorchester County invites all residents to actively participate in shaping the future of our community by providing input on the formation of a new Greenbelt Master Plan. This Plan will be used to guide decision-making on the expenditure of public funds for acquisition or conservation easements which was approved by the 2022 Transportation Sales Tax Referendum.
As part of our commitment to community engagement, we ask residents to complete a short survey designed to gather insight, preferences, and suggestions regarding greenspaces. Your feedback is crucial in guiding the development of initiatives and priorities that will preserve and enhance the county’s greenspaces and recreational areas.
"We value the input of our residents in shaping the future of Dorchester County," said Chairman Todd Friddle, Dorchester County Council. "This survey provides an opportunity for every member of our community to have their voice heard and contribute to the preservation and enhancement of our natural resources."
The survey covers various aspects of the Greenbelt Master Plan, including the preservation of existing greenspaces, the development of new recreational areas, and strategies for enhancing environmental sustainability. It should take only a few minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish. The survey will remain open until March 5, 2024.
Additionally, the County is hosting two drop-in style public engagement sessions, where you can share your thoughts, ideas, and learn more about the effort from the project team.
