DDTwo today announced that teams from Ashley Ridge High School and Fort Dorchester High School placed in the top 10 at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Houston:
ARHS Public Health Team – 2nd Place
- Team: Lia Harrington, Isabell Jackowski, Anabelle Salcido, and Kayla Wilcox
FDHS Public Health Team – 4th Place
- Team: Thao Nghi Nguyen, Sydney Mueller, Himakshi Patel, Haylee Robertson, Michelle Park, and Britney Tran
At the conference, there were 68 international secondary teams and over 11,300 student competitors.
The Public Health event allows students to develop an effective, dynamic, and creative presentation informing the public about an important health issue. This year’s topic was Technology Addition: How to Protect Ourselves. Teams presented a 4-minute presentation and the top 36 teams advanced to Round 2 where they presented their full community presentation to the judging panel.

ARHS HOSA chapter was recognized with a Certificate of Merit for contributions made to the HOSA Service Project, NMDP and received Gold level recognition for hosting blood drives with more than 250 donors.
Riley Bruder (FDHS) received a HOSA scholarship and was recognized at a special dinner.
