Charleston is Home to Some of the Best Small Businesses in the US: Yelp

In honor of Small Business Month, Yelp released a list of the top 100 local businesses in the USA on Wednesday, including three Charleston spots.

The Charleston businesses were recognized as "locally loved" during National Small Business Week. Those included in the 2024 list include: Candlefish (Home Decor category), Wild Blue Ropes Adventure Park (Kids Activities), and Charleston Harbor Veterinarians (Pet Care).

Yelp selected the businesses by first identifying independently-owned and operated businesses in the automotive; beauty; books, mags, music & video; fitness & exercise; fashion; food; home decor; home repair & renovation; kids activities and petcare categories.“This year’s list spotlights both longtime neighborhood mainstays, alongside newer, fusion concepts,” Yelp said. “Many of our top businesses have found success by embracing a particular niche."
