Beemok Hospitality Collection (BHC), an urban resort destination based in Charleston, today announced the creation of Atelier Kim, a hospitality and residential interior design studio helmed by Founder and Design Principal Jungsoo Kim, a 20-year veteran of the luxury hospitality, residential and commercial industries.
Atelier Kim encompasses a team of experts within all aspects of design, including interior spaces, landscapes, architecture, artworks and accessories, signage and brand experience.
The team’s expansive global experience includes award-winning projects for the Waldorf Astoria, Beverly Hills, New York and Doha; Ritz-Carlton Shanghai and Tianjin; Four Seasons Bahrain and Tianjin; L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Singapore; Burj Khalifa; and now The Charleston Place. Atelier Kim’s design services will support all existing and future BHC legacy investments.
Under Kim’s design leadership, The Charleston Place is embarking on a $150+ million, multi-phased reimagination of the iconic hotel, transforming nearly every space including the main entrance and arrival experience; the lobby and public spaces; spa and fitness center; meeting and event facilities; 433 guest rooms and suites; two-story Club Lounge; food and beverage outlets; retail spaces; and the Market Street Circle courtyard.
“Having the opportunity to take projects from the initial dream all the way through the entire guest experience is what sets Atelier Kim apart from many design firms,” said Jungsoo Kim, Founder and Design Principal, Atelier Kim. “We are meticulous in our approach and value authentic craftsmanship, connections and design narratives.”
