A Louisiana-based fast food restaurant is planning to expand to several locations in South Carolina - including some in the Charleston area. Smalls Sliders, which is known for their cheeseburger sliders, is backed by former NFL quarterback Drew Brees.
No specific locations or projected opening dates were provided in their announcement, but they are aiming for a late 2024 opening of at least one of the restaurants.
Smalls Sliders offers a menu of sliders, waffle fries, shakes, queso, and more. They are also known for their distinctive orange “Can” buildings, which you can see in the picture below.
In August, the restaurant signed a five-Can agreement with franchise group Sandlot LLC.
“South Carolina is a very strategic market for Smalls due to its proximity to our Atlanta Support Center, distribution capabilities, and brand growth throughout the region,” said Smalls Sliders’ Chief Development Officer Richard Leveille. “Through insights, we uncovered that Carolinians are looking for excitement in the restaurant space and are seeking alternatives to the usual big-box legacy brands.”
