This six-week class is designed to introduce and expand on the basic elements of oil painting through still-life subjects. Demonstrations on different painting techniques, paint handling, color mixing, proper studio practice, and care for tools and equipment, combined with guided exercises, help to familiarize each student with the medium. We will start with black-and-white value studies and then move up to a full-color palette for a final painting. This course is great for beginner and intermediate painters alike!
