Paddock & Whisky, a bourbon centric neighborhood bar, is now open in James Island's Terrace Plaza. The new spot is serving a full bar featuring a large selection of rotating rare bourbons and whiskies, a selection of wines, rotating local draft beers, and craft cocktails. The menu consists of “upscale bar snacks and thoughtfully crafted sandwiches.”
Featuring over 50 rare bourbons, Paddock & Whisky says they will cater to both the novice and the expert with selections from all regions and price points. Owners Reid Stone and Chris Van Liew have created a drinks menu featuring twists on classic bourbon cocktails, like a Frozen Mint Julep and an Old Fashioned prepared with a special in-house made simple syrup.
“The inspiration behind opening Paddock is the bourbons,” Stone said via a press release. “We not only want people to try the most select bourbons and whiskies from around the world, we want people to know the stories behind the barrels. It's important for us to share how and where those bourbons are being made.”
Taylor Garrigan, executive chef at Home Team BBQ and winning contestant on Food Network's Chopped, is the creative consultant behind Paddock's food menu. Sandwiches like a Muffuletta and a Turkey Russian, all served on locally sourced baguette, and bar snacks like pimento cheese and meat & cheese plates, are among the establishment’s dishes.
The bar features a large garage-style retractable window that will allow for outdoor bar seating. Additionally, an outside patio with seating will be available.
