The Cooper River Bridge Run (CRBR) announced that the race will host its first ever Doggie Fashion Show featuring adoptable dogs from Pet Helpers and dogs in fashions from renowned pet designers Ava Nieves and The Elegant Hare.
In fact, there will be two Doggie Fashion Shows during Bridge Run Events. The first show will take place at the Bridge Run Press Luncheon, a private event held on Friday, March 31st at noon at the Charleston Area Convention Center. Later that day, the Doggie Fashion Show will move to the main stage at the Kids Run & Wonderfest, held at Hampton Park, at 2:30 pm . A total of 12 dogs will walk the runway in their over-the-top, bedazzled outfits. Six adoptable dogs from Pet Helpers (a benefitting Bridge Run charity) will walk the runway, along with six other local dogs. Patricia Altschul, Charleston's ultimate dog lover and Southern Charm star, will emcee each fashion show.
The doggie fashions adorning the runway are designed by Nieves and The Elegant Hare. Nieves is a Certified Pet Fashion Designer by The Fashion Institute and Technology of NYC, co-chair and Creative Director for the New York Pet Fashion Show, and has been featured as a Pet Stylist on TV programs like The David Letterman Show, Anderson Cooper 360, The Martha Stewart Show, From Underdog to Wonderdog, Ice Loves Coco, 30 Rock, and more.
