Be A Mentor, a Charleston-based mentoring initiative, has opened its application period for the 2016-2017 school year. The organization is looking for volunteers that want to make a difference in the community by ensuring that all youth in the Lowcountry have a caring role model in their lives.
Each of Be A Mentor's partner schools already has a waiting list of students for the upcoming school year who would like to be matched with a mentor. The organization has a need at all grade levels (K-12), so all interested parties should reach out to the organization for more information.
On June 27th, interested parties have a chance to meet the Be A Mentor staff and learn more about mentoring programs at the Charleston RiverDogs game (7:05 pm).
