The 2nd Annual Month of Man competition will return on May 1st. The month-long celebration of all things man will include multiple unique events, prizes, and more. Whether it's playing video games, paintball, fishing, or a ninja obstacle course, men can earn their “man card” and enjoy some healthy competition.
Month of Man was started last year by Ben-Jamin Toy, the founder of On Purpose Adventures. Throughout the month, men can sign up to participate in a variety of competitions that encourage camaraderie while raising money and awareness for local charities. They more events that men attend, the more points they get. The man with the most points at the end of the month is deemed “The Man” and receives a prize package that includes a weekend learning to drive a race car, in-shore fishing charter, a camping weekend, and gift certificates. Prizes are also awarded to second, third, fourth, and fifth place finishers.
To participate, men should register at monthofman.com. All participants will have access to a members-only website and will receive a Month of Man T-shirt and ManCard. The card also gives them access to perks and discounts throughout the summer.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Carolina Youth Development Center (CYDC) Motorsports program, an initiative created and lead by volunteers that teaches at-risk youth automotive and STEAM skills. In addition, men will be able to spend three days volunteering for Habitat for Humanity house.
The cost to register is $45 or $35 for military and first responders. The program is open to any man 18 years and older.
