On Saturday, March 5th, The Rusty Rudder in Mount Pleasant will be home to the “Fight Like a Girl!” Fundraiser and Corn Hole Tournament benefiting a local woman fighting breast cancer. The event will run from noon until 6 pm. According to the event’s organizer: “Rebekah is a 34-year-old mother of a very energetic 2-year-old girl. She has been a Registered Nurse for 12 years, and has worked in Charleston for the last 5 years. She was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, IDC), and is currently enduring 6 months of chemo therapy, with treatments weekly. Rebekah never had insurance, and cannot work at this time due to the intense rounds of Chemo.” The fundraiser will benefit Rebekah directly and the Share our Suzy Foundation (SOS), a charity of her choosing. SOS provides financial assistance for women battling breast cancer, so they can focus solely on getting treatment.
The event will include a local band, corn hole tournament, and 50/50 raffle giveaways. Admission is $20 at the door and includes one drink, one raffle ticket, and an optional entry into the tournament.
