This April, the Lowcountry can expect plenty of car enthusiasts to pass through the area for the 2016 Kiawah Island Motoring Retreat (KIMR). The event will run from April 15th to the 17th.
The KIMR is a classic and antique car show featuring an entire weekend of events (some free, some ticketed). The celebration includes 100+ classic and antique automobiles, an oyster roast, a wine dinner, live music, local food trucks, craft beer and bourbon tastings, expert-led automotive seminars, a scenic motoring tour, and more.
Although the retreat will take place all weekend, the highlight may be Sunday’s judged Concours (as in Concours d’Elegance, a competition among car owners). The event will run from 10 am until 3 pm. Tickets are available here for $40 each.
Tickets for additional events throughout the weekend will go on sale in the coming weeks. Net proceeds will benefit three Lowcountry charities: Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic, the Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding Program, and the Kiawah Conservancy.
