The 2015 Walk To End Alzheimer’s will be held at Riverfront Park in North Charleston on Saturday, September 19th. Registration begins at 8 am while the 3-mile walk starts at 10 am.
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. The event is held annually in more than 600 cities nationwide, including several in South Carolina.
It’s free to register for the event, but all walkers are encouraged to donate or raise money . Anyone that raises $100 or more will receive a Walk T-shirt. The event is family friendly, so bring the kids!
Alzheimer's disease is a growing epidemic and the nation's sixth-leading cause of death. As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimer's disease will rapidly escalate, increasing well beyond today's more than 5 million Americans to as many as 16 million by 2050.
