On August 30th, the Charleston community is invited to celebrate Jamaica Day in the Carolinas at the South Carolina Reggae Jerk & Wine Festival at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. The event will run from noon until 7:30 pm.
Attendees will be able to enjoy:
- Succulent jerk foods like pork, fish, chicken
- Live Reggae music from Kenne Blessin and The Dubplates
- Wine tastings
- a Dominoes tournament
- a Pepper-eating contest
- Jamaican Ludo
- Caribbean Marketplace with vendors
- Beer and wine bar
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Healthy Lifestyle Network. Representatives will also be collecting school supplies, soccer balls sizes 3 & 4, and shin guards for the students of the Shelton Project.
Tickets are $25 if purchased in advance. Designated Drivers get in for $15. Tickets may be purchased here.
