Louie's Kids will hold their 7th Annual “Little Chef Big Chef Challenge” at 492 on Monday, September 21st at 7 pm. This year, the charity event will feature five of Charleston’s most celebrated chefs.
The challenge pairs those chefs with children associated with the Louie's Kids organization. Each tandem then creates a dish together, which will be served to the attendees. The entire challenge focuses on healthy cooking while raising money for the charity. Each course will be accompanied by a wine and beer pairing.
This year's chefs are Nate Whiting and Amanee Neirouz of 492, Jacques Larson of Wild Olive and The Obstinate Daughter, Jason Stanhope of FIG, and Kevin Johnson of The Grocery. You can see pictures of the little chefs working in the kitchen with the big chefs here.
Tickets are available for $175 per person, not including gratuity. Advance tickets can be reserved by calling 492 at (843) 203-6338. Purchasing tickets early is strongly encouraged, as space is limited to 80 people this year and will sell out in advance.
Proceeds from the event benefit Louie's Kids, a national nonprofit treating childhood obesity through promotion of a healthier more productive lifestyle.
