The Charleston Caribbean Jerk Festival returns to the Holy City for its second straight year this Saturday from 7 pm until 11 pm at the Charleston Visitor Center Bus Shed. The event will celebrate Caribbean food, culture, and music.
Food vendors from across the Southeast will be onsite and will participate in contests for the Best Jerk Recipes. Attendees will decide who the Top Jerk Chef of 2015 is. Last year's winner, Reggae Grill Caribbean Cuisine, will be in attendance to defend their title.
This year’s vendors include Roswell's Souvenir Shop, Irie Innovations, and Two Stix.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Sahara Reggae Band, Adventurous, and Priceman.
Tickets are $10 and can be at Monster Music (946 Orleans Rd), Reggae Grill (4226 Rivers Avenue), Blades Barber Shop (476 Meeting Street) and online. Children 12 and under are free.
Once inside the venue, food prices are set by each vendor. Drink tickets for beer/wine/water/soda will also be available for purchase.
