Louie's Kids, a locally-based nonprofit that helps treat childhood obesity, recently announced a new program that will prepare children and parents for the 38th Annual Cooper River Bridge Run (3/28/15).
The “Meet Under the Bridge to Get Over It” initiative was created for families of any fitness level to get in shape during a 10-week course prior to the 10k run. The program will be taught by local volunteers in the health and fitness community.
The program will be held on Tuesdays and Thursday from January 20th until March 28th at the Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park . Families should meet there at 6:30 pm each night. The cost is $25 per family.
Louie's Kids will be paying for all families' race registration, plus they’ll be giving participants a free team racing shirt, a water bottle, and a running light to bring to each practice.
