Be a Mentor has announced the honorees for the 2nd annual Going Places Gala, which will be held on Thursday, November 13th at Cottage on the Creek in Mount Pleasant.
This year’s honorees include:
- North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey
- Erica Wright, the director of Charleston Young Professionals
- Pastor Marshall Blalock of First Baptist Church of Charleston
- Wendy Gainey, counselor at Saint Andrew's School of Math and Science
The Going Places Gala will pay tribute to these mentors and includes a silent auction, live music by Honeysmoke, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and an open bar. Tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased here. The event starts at 6:30 pm.
Be A Mentor is “an in-school mentoring program that works to instill youth with confidence, build social and emotional skills, and ensure that every child in the Lowcountry has a caring adult in their lives.” You can learn more about the organization on their website.
