Mellow Avondale Hosts a Frothy Beard Beer Dinner with Chef Brannon Florie

Three Charleston favorites – a brewery, a chef, and a restaurant – are teaming up for a Beer Dinner on Thursday, September 11th at 7 pm. Mellow Mushroom Avondale will host the shindig which will feature food from Chef Brannon Florie and beer from the Frothy Beard Brewing Company.

Chef Florie of The Rarebit and The Granary will prepare a farm-to-table inspired five-course meal that will be paired with local brews.

The evening’s menu is as follows:

1ST COURSE
- Charcuterie
  - Summer salami, mortadella, tasso coppa, smoked beef rillettes, bread and butter pickles, pickled okra, grain mustard, sourdough bread
- Paired with Belgian Triple 12% 4-6 oz pour
2ND COURSE
- Pickled Peach Salad
  - Cucumbers, beets, Sweet Bay Bibb lettuce, buttermilk blue cheese dressing, curried pecans
- Paired with Seargant Sandias Watermelon Wheat
3RD COURSE
- Local Shrimp and Clams
  - Chorizo, sweet and spicy peppers, fennel, orange, grilled sourdough
- Paired with Great White Wit
4TH COURSE
- Pork Cheeks
  - Smoked celery root puree, Brussels sprouts, Asian pear, pork jus
- Paired with Maltese Falcon Brown Ale
5TH COURSE
- Surprise Dessert paired with Mermaids Milk (Coconut Milk Stout)

Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased here (FYI – space is limited to 30 guests). The menu is subject to change.
