You may have to avoid a few bovine landmines along the way, but the Cow Pie Skip 5k Fun Run at Legare Farms should still be a blast. The multifaceted athletic event will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 4 pm.
The Cow Pie Skip is more than a 5k around Legare Farms – it also includes 8-to-10 fun and easy farm chores along the route. These include pumping water, lassoing a stationary steer, milking a simulated cow, and carrying eggs.
The run concludes with a party featuring Legare Farms hamburgers and barbeque sandwiches, as well as beer and wine. A vegetarian burger will be also be offered.
Registration is $50, but children under 12 years old can run for free. All runners can attend the after party. A t-shirt is also included with paid registration (they can be purchased separately for children running for free).
The proceeds of the race will benefit the Legare Farms Education Foundation. The goal of the organization is to educate Lowcountry residents about the importance of agriculture.
For more information and/or to register, visit the race’s official website.
