Four soon-to-be-open Charleston restaurants are included in Eater's list of the “53 Most Anticipated Restaurant Openings” for this fall. Minero, 492, The Americano, and the unnamed Bob Waggoner project all generated enough hype to make the national list.
Minero, the latest restaurant from Chef Sean Brock, will feature Mexican-inspired food. It’s expected to open next month at 155 East Bay Street and is currently hiring.
Former Tristan chef Nate Whiting is the man behind 492, which is slated to open on King Street. Whiting told Potluck Video that the restaurant will be “fine dining type of quality without the pretentiousness.”
The Americano, from restaurateur John Adamson, will be at 819 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant. Eater Charleston says the eatery will have a Cuban influence.
Chef Bob Waggoner, formerly of Charleston Grill, will open a “not-restaurant” at 164-A Market Street. He told the Post & Courier’s Hanna Raskin that his new project will be like a “nightly cooking school, at which 10 diners will have the opportunity to prepare a four-course meal and then enjoy it with wine.”
