The 12th Annual Lowcountry Splash is scheduled for Saturday, June 1st at 7:30 am. The event is an open-water, charity swim that takes place in the Charleston Harbor. Proceeds go to the Logan Rutledge Children's Foundation.
In addition to the yearly 2.4-mile race, organizers have added a 5-mile swim across the Cooper River beginning at Daniel Island.
The shorter swim travels along the Mount Pleasant shoreline, under the Cooper River Bridge and finishing at the Charleston Harbor Marina in front of the USS Yorktown.
