One of my favorite singers will be hosting a couple of special concert events at Surf Bar in April.
Young-Mi Feldsott of the local band Old You will lead the Sunday Sessions on April 14th and 28th at the Folly Beach bar.
The shows are free and will feature other area musicians collaborating together.
I spoke with Young-Mi who gave me the following rundown of the shows:
So I am forming 4-5 groups of musicians who have never (or almost never) played together and asking them to put together a set! They have the option of planning ahead or improvising the whole/some of the set, I’m leaving it completely up to them. once I assign the group, I give them each other’s contact information and a time slot and let it happen how it happens. It’s going to be so exciting, we have some amazing players involved!!
***UPDATE, 4/9/13***: Feldsott has announced the lineup for the first Sunday Session. There are MANY musicians scheduled to appear including: Whitt Algar, Caleb Bodtrof, Zach Bodtrof, Ryan Bonner, Tyler Boone, Sarah Cole, Stratton Moore, John Pope, Julie Slonecki, and more.
