The Folly Beach City Council has banned alcohol permanently. There will not be a vote this November. The ban goes into effect immediately, which means (obviously) it will no longer expire after Labor Day. The council voted 4-3 in favor of the permanent ban after receiving a petition with enough voter signatures to forgo adding the referendum to a popular vote.
In other City Council news – The Charleston County Council voted no to adding the I-526 expansion referendum to the November ballot.
