Nonprofit Warrior Surf Foundation (WSF) will host its second annual Jason Bowman Foam Frenzy Surf Competition from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th at the Washout on Folly Beach. Proceeds will go towards WSF’s Surf Therapy Program, which provides 12 weeks of free surf therapy, yoga, wellness classes and community to Veterans struggling with PTSD and other mental health challenges.
The Foam Frenzy competition will feature 24 teams of five competing on provided foam surfboards for the ultimate prize, a 5-day stay at a beach home in Guatemala. There will also be an after-party at The Washout Restaurant.
WSF has dedicated the competition to Jason Bowman, who sadly lost his life earlier this year. Bowman was a friend, father and Marine Corps Veteran who epitomized the core values of WSF and left a lasting impression on those around him.
In addition to the competition, there will be a raffle and vendors, such as shes on edge, Cajun Cousins, Modern Chiropractic, Quest and Camino Caffeino Coffee. If interested in donating to the raffle, head here, and for vendor opportunities, head here.
Registration costs $600 for a personal team or $800 for a business team, which includes social media promotion, a logo on WSF flyers and the event website and the opportunity to table at the event. There are no age or gender restrictions, and you don’t have to have all five team members at the time of registration. Head here to register.
