Celebrating 25 Years of Impact
This year’s Moms’ Run is extra special as it honors 25 years of Postpartum Support Charleston’s work. Over the past quarter century, the organization has grown from offering a few small support groups to providing comprehensive maternal mental health resources and programs that support over 1,600 moms annually. Programs include:
- Beyond Delivery: Providing care packages with essentials like homemade lasagna, diapers, wipes, and maternal mental health resources.
- Mom Mentors: Connecting new moms with trained mentors for one-on-one support.
- Support Groups: Offering therapist-led and peer-led support groups across the Charleston area.
“This year, we are celebrating 25 years of resilience, growth, and community support,” said Elaine DeaKyne, executive director. “The Moms’ Run is not only a chance to come together and celebrate motherhood, but also to honor the work we’ve done and look ahead to the future as we continue to care for moms and families in our community.”
