On November 8th, Pattison's Academy will host Charleston’s Inaugural Fall Unified Games at Ravenel Stadium (721 Wappoo Road) from 9:30 am to 12 pm. The event, which will be held in partnership with the Special Olympics South Carolina, will feature more than 150 CCSD students taking part in an Unified Sports Day.
Student athletes and buddies from Pattison’s Academy, Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary, Carolina Voyager, North Charleston High School, School of the Arts, Stall High School, West Ashley High School, and Zucker Middle School will all be in attendance. Spectators are welcomed in stands.
The event includes Flag Football, Volleyball, T-ball, and Bowling.
Pattison’s Academy is South Carolina’s only Pre-K-12 school supporting children with disabilities in a collaborative model. The Lowcountry nonprofit integrates therapy and education to create a unique, individualized, and vibrant learning environment for every child that enters their doors through four integrative programs.
"Creating a socially inclusive Charleston starts with early engagement and education," says Karl Lamont, Principal of Pattison’s Academy. "Unified Sports brings individuals with and without disabilities together on the same team, showing how players of all abilities can unite to make a positive impact—just like our Charleston community, where diverse talents come together for a brighter future. The Fall Unified Games are more than a fun event; they’re a chance to inspire inclusive leadership and foster meaningful connections that build a more hopeful, unified city."
