Charleston will host the inaugural Outside Streetball Festival on April 4, 2026, at The Refinery, bringing together competitive streetball, live music, art, food and community for a full-day celebration of local culture.
The one-day festival will feature a competitive 3-on-3 basketball tournament with a cash prize, a live dunk contest, DJs throughout the day, artists painting on-site, local food vendors and a headline performance by Nappy Roots. Professional MCs will provide live, on-court commentary throughout the tournament, creating an authentic streetball atmosphere that blends sport and entertainment.
Tickets are available at OutsideStreetball.com.
Founded by Charleston native Egal Gabay, a former international basketball commentator, Outside was created to give the city a true street-level basketball experience.
“Charleston has always had the talent. We just have never had the platform,” Gabay said. “Outside is that platform. It’s about bringing streetball back to the forefront and building something that feels raw, competitive, creative and unapologetically ours.”
The Outside Streetball Festival has partnered with Hoops Against Homelessness and Rise Up Hoops to support local youth and community initiatives through basketball.
The festival runs from noon to 9 p.m. at The Refinery. Children’s tickets are half price. Food and drinks will be available throughout the day.
