“We usually host our annual Entrepreneurs in Athletics & Sports Fundraiser in June, but this year’s event allows us to be in tune with other back-to-school events occurring in the area,” EC Youth/L.E.E.L. Initiative founder Pleshette Grant said. “It gives us an opportunity to invite businesses and nonprofits to come out and share information about services they offer youth and their communities. Also, attendees will have a chance to preorder my new book, ‘K.I.S.S. My G.I.S.S.,’ which will be released this fall.”
Tournament competitors, sponsors and vendors are still being accepted. Proceeds will allow L.E.E.L. to provide stipends, participation scholarships, other scholarships and initiatives that support the organization’s mission of providing financial literacy education through entrepreneurship.
Learn Earn, Earn Learn (L.E.E.L.) Initiative is the non-profit organization connected to EC Youth that allows youth participants to earn scholarships and stipends made possible through sponsors and grants for attending school, meeting with their mentors and tutors, volunteering, and working on their portfolio for planning for their future. Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) was established to expose youth ages 17 and younger to entrepreneurship. EC Youth’s ultimate goal is educating youth about financial literacy. Youth are taught the tools of entrepreneurship, which are education, volunteering, mentoring, tutoring, apprenticeships, vending, scholarships, and more, and how to use them. EC Youth hosts entrepreneurial and financial literacy events with speakers who educate attendees with information about business sectors. Opportunity Calls Everyone Family Development Center (OCE) is dedicated to strengthening youth, families, and couples through holistic programs that promote mental wellness, life skills, and independence. Through services, such as grief support, education with STEM, financial literacy, and independent living for youth aging out of foster care, OCE empowers individuals and families to build resilience, restore hope, and create a brighter, stronger future together.
