Local nonprofit First Tee - Greater Charleston is accepting applications for their Pathfinder Immersion Program. Current 5th grade students are eligible to apply, now through February 27 for 2026 summer camp consideration.
Ideal candidates should have an interest in learning golf, engaging in STEM curriculum, and exploring academic/professional development opportunities. No prior golf experience is required. Accepted students will participate in a 6-week summer camp (based out of Charleston Day School) followed by Saturday enrichment activities throughout the school year.
There is no cost to apply for or to participate in First Tee’s Pathfinder Immersion Program, an initiative that has garnered three USGA IDEA Grants and earned the Barbara A. Douglas and Dr. William J. Powell Diversity Award in 2022. Program activities, equipment, and transportation are all fully funded by generous community support.

About Pathfinder Immersion Program
In 2021, First Tee – Greater Charleston launched a robust immersion program to provide impactful year-round experiences for students on the brink of success. Participants enter the program the summer before 6th grade and continue through high school. They meet Monday-Friday during the summer and on Saturdays during the school year for golf, mentoring, and STEM enrichment activities.
