Registration is open for the third annual Dink & Deliver Pickleball Tournament, presented by McElveen, returning April 11-12 at The Pickle Bar in Nexton.
Hosted by Meals on Wheels of Summerville, the two-day community fundraiser brings together players, supporters and local businesses for a weekend of friendly competition with a meaningful purpose: supporting homebound neighbors who rely on weekly meal deliveries and vital connections to remain independent in their homes. Registration closes April 7 at 11:59 p.m.
Now in its third year, the Dink & Deliver Pickleball Tournament introduces a new MiLP-style team format on Sunday, adding strategy, collaboration and more excitement to the weekend lineup.
“Our neighbors have spent their lives building this community,” said Crystal Bovell, executive director of Meals on Wheels of Summerville. “Dink & Deliver is a reminder that Summerville shows up for its own. When players step onto the court, they’re doing more than competing; they’re helping ensure someone’s grandmother, father or veteran next door has the support they need to live with dignity.”
Each week, Meals on Wheels of Summerville provides more than 1,300 meals across 23 routes, made possible by donors and community support without government funding. For many residents, volunteers are the only people they see or speak with all week. In addition to meals, deliveries provide wellness checks, reassurance and connection, ensuring neighbors not only have food security but also the support needed to remain at home. Events like Dink & Deliver help make that work possible by directly funding meals and meaningful moments at the doorstep each day.
All player registrations will be completed through Pickleball Charleston, with a portion of each registration fee directly supporting Meals on Wheels of Summerville’s mission to provide meals and companionship to homebound seniors in the community.
