With the holidays approaching and food insecurity rising, Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine have launched a new $1, $3, $5 fundraising campaign to support local food banks and SNAP recipients in the communities they serve. In Charleston, they'll be donating to the Lowcountry Food Bank.
Now through Dec. 20, diners at either brunch restaurant can add a $1, $3, or $5 donation to their check. The Weishaupt Family Foundation has pledged to match contributions up to $15,000, doubling the impact of each gift.
To get resources to families quickly, Ruby Slipper officials said donations will be distributed to food banks every two weeks so assistance can begin immediately.
