Charleston County officials are inviting residents to join a virtual listening session on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. to provide feedback on a potential future extension of the Transportation Sales Tax (TST). This session is the latest opportunity for the public to weigh in on the county’s plans for roads, transit, and greenspace improvements.
The online meeting will begin with a brief presentation by county leaders, followed by a moderated Q&A and discussion where participants can share suggestions and outline local priorities.
The meeting will be hosted via Zoom. To attend, click here. No registration is required prior to joining.
Residents who cannot participate in the live session can still provide input through the county’s online public survey, which will remain open through Sunday, January 11, 2026, at www.CharlestonTransportation.
All feedback collected through the county’s outreach to the public and municipalities will be presented to County Council during their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Additional phases of public engagement will take place as Council discussions progress.
In addition to county-hosted meetings, neighborhood associations and community groups can request a meeting to learn more about the TST program and provide feedback directly. The request form is available at www.CharlestonTransportation.
