GREENVILLE, SC – In the first week of his campaign for the U.S. Senate against Lindsey Graham, Lee Johnson traveled across South Carolina to meet with voters in Richland, Sumter, and Charleston Counties.
On Thursday, the first full day of the campaign, Johnson traveled to Sumter to deliver remarks at the Sumter County Democratic Party’s monthly meeting.
On Saturday, Johnson delivered remarks at a panel held by the Institute for Child Success in Columbia. Later that day, Johnson attended a meeting with the Young Democrats of the Central Midlands and spoke at an event held by Emerge South Carolina, an organization that recruits Democratic women to run for office.
On Tuesday, Johnson traveled to Charleston County to deliver remarks at the North Charleston Democrats monthly meeting.
Additionally, prior to his official launch, Johnson attended events with Democrats in Greenville and York Counties.
“This campaign is about showing up,” Johnson said. “I’m hitting the road to meet folks where they are and engage with everyone, because the best ideas don’t come from Washington, they come from the people.”

Johnson lives in Greenville with his wife, Shauna, and six-year-old daughter, Max. He grew up in a construction family and has dedicated his life to engineering and innovation.
He earned engineering degrees from Purdue, Georgia Tech and an MBA from Dartmouth.
