Silence Is Not an Option (SINO) Speaker’s Series will present a community forum focused on flooding, environmental justice and sustainability in Charleston.
The event will feature Charleston native, science educator and environmental “artivist” Dr. Merrie Koester, along with a group of artists and storytellers who will explore how a "resilient, vibrant and disaster-resistant community can emerge through collaboration and care."
Participants will include musician Delia Chariker, poet Marcus Amaker, arts organizer Victoria Rae Moore, SCETV’s Impact SC and a team of young environmentalists involved in local sustainability programs.
The forum will address topics such as preserving wetlands, increasing public access to waterways, supporting native plants and improving quality of life for residents, including small businesses and artists.
