The Silence Is Not an Option (SINO) Speaker Series will present former South Carolina Gov. David Beasley—Nobel Peace Prize recipient, JFK Profiles in Courage Award winner, former director of the World Food Programme, and University of South Carolina distinguished professor of law—on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. at The Circular Congregational Church.
Beasley will address global hunger, the ways politics weaponizes food against vulnerable communities, how these issues connect to South Carolina, and what local residents can do to help.
