The South Carolina Democratic Party (SCDP) is launching a multi-county “On the Road” series with California Governor Gavin Newsom in an effort to bring national Democratic leaders directly to communities that they believe are often overlooked by the GOP. Governor Newsom will hold a string of informal, unscripted meet-and-greets across eight Pee Dee, Midlands, and Upstate counties.
For two days, Governor Newsom will listen to local concerns, share solutions on jobs, health care, and rural infrastructure, and spotlight South Carolinians who are already driving progress in their hometowns.
“Governor Newsom leads the largest economy in America and the fourth largest in the world, and he’s coming to meet folks in towns that have been hollowed out by decades of Republican control,” said SCDP Chair Christale Spain. “This is about building partnerships, uplifting communities, and showing rural voters they aren’t forgotten.”
The series will take place on Tuesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 9. Click here to RSVP.
