Residents from across the Lowcountry and beyond are invited to attend a Community Energy Town Hall hosted by Representative Courtney Waters (South Carolina House District 113) with special guest Senator Deon Tedder (Senate District 42). The event will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Arabian Temple, 4132 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston.
This town hall brings together voices from across the energy and environmental justice landscape to discuss how South Carolina’s energy policies are impacting families, businesses, and neighborhoods.
“South Carolinians deserve transparency and tools to navigate our state’s energy system. This town hall is about bringing clarity, resources, and empowerment to the people we serve,” said Rep. Courtney Waters.
The panel will feature representatives from:
- Dominion Energy
- Energy Justice Coalition
- The Sustainability Institute
- Conservation Voters of South Carolina
Topics will include:
- What’s driving high energy costs in our communities
- The new 2025 South Carolina energy bill and what it means for your home and wallet
- Practical programs and tips to help residents reduce their utility bills
“This is a moment to center the community in conversations about sustainability, affordability, and environmental justice,” added Senator Deon Tedder. “We look forward to hearing from residents and working together toward a more equitable energy future.”
This event is free and open to the public. Whether you're a homeowner, renter, student, or business owner, this is your opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with those shaping the future of energy in South Carolina.
