Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie endorsed retired Rear Admiral Nancy Lacore for Congress, announcing his support during Lacore’s primary election kickoff event Wednesday morning at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina.
“I have every belief that Admiral Nancy Lacore will represent us in Washington with the principles of the Lowcountry, the things that we all hold dear,” said Haynie. “I know voters in Mount Pleasant want resiliency, they want conservation, and they want transportation and infrastructure. We will have Nancy there supporting us in these endeavors, and she will put country before party.”
Lacore officially launched her campaign earlier this year following a 35-year career in the U.S. Navy, where she rose to lead more than 60,000 sailors as Chief of Navy Reserve. Earlier this month, Lacore announced raising over $1 million in less than one quarter since formally launching her campaign
“I’m honored to have Mayor Haynie’s support,” said SC-01 Democratic candidate Nancy Lacore. “He knows what it means to serve a community and deliver results, and I’m grateful to have his partnership as we build a campaign focused on putting the Lowcountry first.”
