Today, Democrat Nancy Lacore’s campaign for Congress in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District announced a new round of endorsements.
The endorsements follow last week’s announcement that three-term Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie, a Republican, crossed party lines to support Lacore.
Those endorsing Lacore include:
- John Tecklenburg, former mayor of Charleston
- JA Moore, member of the South Carolina House of Representatives (Berkeley and Charleston counties)
- Julia Drayton-Crumblin, James Island Town Council member
- Michael O. Williams, James Island Town Council member
- Kathryn Whitaker, Mount Pleasant Town Council member
- Jan Anderson, former Isle of Palms council member
- Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, former Democratic nominee, South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District
- Linda Ketner, former Democratic nominee, South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, and co-founder of AFFA
- Michael B. Moore, 2024 Democratic nominee, South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District
- Ginny Deerin, former candidate for mayor of Charleston
- Kaye Koonce, Democratic National Committee member, Charleston County
- Waring Howe, former Charleston County Democratic Party chairman and Democratic National Committee member
“I am truly honored to have the support of such respected leaders who have dedicated their lives to serving our community,” Lacore said. “I look forward to campaigning alongside them across the district in both the primary and general elections.”
“Voters across the Lowcountry know we need a new direction in Washington,” she added. “We need a Congress that will stand up for the Constitution, protect our democratic institutions, tackle the rising cost of living and defend our coast and natural resources. That’s exactly what I intend to do.”
