Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette said today she agrees with Gov. Henry McMaster that the South Carolina General Assembly should “immediately” redraw the state’s congressional districts following the U.S. Supreme Court’s weakening of a key protection of the Voting Rights Act.
“Proud to stand with Governor Henry McMaster,” said Evette in a post on X/Twitter. “It’s time to redraw our maps in line with the Supreme Court’s decision.
“Inaction would squander a critical opportunity to maximize our conservative stronghold across the state. We must seize this moment to deliver a 7-0 conservative delegation that will advance President (Donald) Trump’s America First Agenda.”
