Mayor William Cogswell and West Ashley council members will kick off the city’s State of Our City series with a community event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at West Ashley High School. The event will focus on projects, initiatives and the future of West Ashley.
The evening will include a presentation from the mayor on citywide and area-specific progress, videos from council members highlighting local projects and a question-and-answer session during which Cogswell will respond to presubmitted questions from residents. A community lobby session with city staff will follow.
State of Our City is a five-stop neighborhood series in which the mayor and City Council will share updates about each part of Charleston, including recreation, housing, infrastructure and growth-management projects. West Ashley is the first stop in the series.
