On Saturday, May 16, former NASA astronaut and current U.S. senator for Arizona Mark Kelly will be the keynote speaker at the Democratic Women’s Council of Darlington County annual luncheon. The event is expected to draw hundreds of local Democrats.
Kelly will accept an award on behalf of his wife, former U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords, who was injured in a 2011 mass shooting and now leads the gun violence prevention organization GIFFORDS.
